Prof. Yong Zhao’s group is supported by the Organization Department, CPC Central Committee, the NFSC, the Education Department and the Science and Technology Department of Henan Province, and the Henan University since its establishment in 2016. The main research topics are the design and synthesis of electrochemical catalysts and their applications in energy conversion devices.

Several scientific research projects are undertaking, such as National Natural Science Foundation, Science and Technology Innovative Talents in University of Henan Province, and the "Climbing" program. Twenty articles have been published on journals of Chem. Soc. Rev., Nat. Commun., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., and Adv. Funct. Mater., etc, with cited by more than 1300 times. Furthermore, three authorized patents were published, including two International invention patents and a China National invention patent.

After pre-construction, the group possesses two young college teachers, a doctoral student and six master students. Instruments of Electrochemical Workstation, Glove Box, Gas Chromatography and Contact Angle Instrument and so on are all in readiness for electrochemical catalysis, fuel cell and Li-air battery research, etc.

Potential candidates of Master degree and Ph. D. degree, who have good basic knowledge of Chemistry, Physics, Materials and Energy conversion devices, are warmly welcome to join the group.
