Time flies, the New Year begins again! Here, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to all the teachers and students of the laboratory who have worked hard in the past year, to all the teachers and friends who have been concerned about and supporting the development of the laboratory!

2017 is an extraordinary year. The "19th National Congress" was held successfully, and national development entered a new stage. Henan university was selected as "Double Tops", and the school entered a new level. The laboratory made up the short board, complete jigsaw puzzle and has been gaining momentum! All of our team members rolled up their sleeves and worked together, working hard and collaborating to successfully complete the pre-scheduled target.

Major breakthroughs were made in platform construction in 2017. After fierce competition, the "Efficient display and lighting technology national joint engineering research center" of the National Development and Reform Commission were approved in 2017, leading the research platform up to a new level! This is of monumental significance to the future development of the laboratory. At the same time, the laboratory has completed the construction planning and application of the "national key laboratory for the construction of provincial departments", which has been submitted to the Ministry of science and technology through the Department of science and technology and the provincial government. In the evaluation of Provincial Key Laboratory, we received another superior award after the excellent evaluation in 2015, continuing to consolidate the laboratory's leading position in provincial key laboratories.

In 2017, high-level talents training produced further good news. Bai Feng, Cheng Gang, Zhao Yong and Shen Huaibin were selected as the outstanding young scholars cultivation plan of Henan university, and each received 3 million yuan for financial support. The organic unity of "talent training-team building-platform construction" has been effective.

In 2017, the research work continues to maintain a strong momentum, publishing a series of academic papers as the first unit at the top international journals such as Nano Letters, ACS Nano, and Energy & Environmental Science. The number of high-end SCI papers continues to stay ahead within the university. In particular, relying on the photovoltaic platform, the work of Professor Wu Sixin's research team on CZTSe thin film solar cells was published on Energy & Environmental Science. The influence factor of the journal was 29.5, which made the influence factors of the published journal articles in the laboratory reached a new high, and the success of the photovoltaic platform construction began to appear.

In 2017, the academic exchange of the laboratory was unprecedentedly active. The "Ninth Symposium on advanced functional interface materials", "the Third Asia Pacific International Conference on Material Chemistry", and the Construction Strategy Symposium on the "first class subject of materials" of Henan University were held successively. A large number of famous scholars from home and abroad have been invited and received.

In 2018, the laboratory will celebrate its 20th anniversary, let us all "Special Function lab people" adhere to the entrepreneurial spirit of " firm belief, unity and effort, and dedication", go all out, and cast brilliance!
