On the morning of November 20, 2019 (Wednesday), at the invitation of the Key Laboratory of Special Functional Materials, Professor Xifei Li from Xi'an University of Technology visited the laboratory for academic exchanges and gave a wonderful report entitled "Design and Optimization of Interfaces of Battery Materials". The lecture was hosted by Prof. Yong Zhao from the Key Laboratory of Special Functional Materials, and teachers and graduate students from related fields of the university attended the lecture.
With the rapid development of electric vehicles and new electronic devices, high specific energy and high power batteries are attracting attention, and the performance of batteries depends on the electrode materials. Due to the requirement of low cost and high energy density, high performance cathode materials are the focus and hotspot in the current battery development. Professor Xifei Li's report starts from the modification of anode and cathode materials through surface doping and coating, and the controlled design and optimization of the surface interface through the application of chemical method and ALD technology, which lays the foundation for the development of an effective way of surface pretreatment of anode and cathode materials and the industrialization of high-capacity and high-performance anode and cathode materials.
After the report, Professor Xifei Li had a heated and in-depth discussion and exchange with the teachers and students on the influence of the crystallinity of tin dioxide on the performance of sodium ion batteries, which benefited the teachers and students a lot.
