On October 19, 2020, the 14th National Conference on Laser Technology and Optoelectronics (LTO 2020) and the 2019 Top Ten Progress in China Optics Awards Ceremony was held at Holiday Inn Shanghai Hongqiao, Shanghai, with more than 700 Chinese and foreign experts, scholars and representative of related enterprises participation In this conference, twenty achievements in basic research and applied research were awarded.
The research result “Visible quantum dot light-emitting diodes with simultaneous high brightness and efficiency”, collaborated by team led by Prof. Shen Huaibin, Prof. Li Linsong and Prof. Du Zuliang from Key Lab for Special Functional Materials of Ministry of Education, National and Local Joint Engineering Research Center for High-efficiency Display and Lighting Technology and School of Materials, HENU, and team led by Prof. Zhang Zhenyu from University of Science and Technology of China, was awarded as the 2019 Top Ten Progress in China Optics (Basic Research).
This result postulates that this high performance is due to the use of Se throughout the core/shell regions and the existence of alloyed bridging layers at the core/shell interfaces. This study suggests that in the future visible quantum dot light-emitting diodes will also be suitable for lighting applications with simultaneous high brightness and efficiency.
