   Dr. Jun-Hyung CHO is a professor from the Department of Physics of Hanyang University, South Korea. He received the Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in physics from Hanyang University in Korea in 1984, the Master of Science (MSc) degree in condensed matter physics from Seoul National University of South Korea in 1986, and the PhD diploma from Pohang University of Science and Technology in South Korea. He worked as a post-doctoral researcher in the Oak Ridge National Laboratory of the United States, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and Texas State University. He then joined the physics department of Hanyang University of South Korea in 2013.

   He has been awarded as distinguished researcher of Quantum Optics Center, Outstanding visiting professor of China University of Science and Technology, and distinguished guest professor of Zhengzhou University. Prof. CHO mainly focuses on the properties of atoms and molecules on semiconductor surface, metal insulator transition, Peierls phase transitions and Mott physics, semiconductor surface reactions and adsorption of organic molecules, first-principles electronic structure calculations (van der Waals interactions, mixed functions, molecular dynamics) et al. He has published 114 academic papers in major international physics and chemical journals, including 14 papers in the top physics and chemistry journals, such as Physical Review Letters (PRL) and Journal of the American Chemical Society (JACS), and 64 papers in Physical Review B (PRB). His papers have been cited 1887 times and H index is 24. He has participated many times in the March Meeting of the American Physical Society (March Meeting) and gave invited talks. He also actively participates in the Korea Physics Society and South Korea Nanotechnology seminar gave invited talks as well as oral presentations in other international conferences.
